Fujitsu FLASHWAVE® 4500 MSSP, NETSMART® 1500 EMS and Ai Metrix NeuralStar Management Platform are key components of U.S. Federal Networks
Fujitsu Network Communications Inc., a leading North American supplier of telecommunications and networking solutions, today announced interoperability of the NeuralStar® network management platform from Ai Metrix with the Fujitsu FLASHWAVE® 4500 Multiservice Provisioning and Switching Platform (MSPP/MSSP) and NETSMART® 1500 Element Management System (EMS). NeuralStar provides dynamic management for complex, converged networks that incorporate data, voice, video, Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) and other technologies.
The carrier-class FLASHWAVE 4500 platform supports the creation of next-generation optical transport networks that offer a quantum leap in network efficiency and provide a wide variety of innovative services, while delivering capital and expense savings. NeuralStar is the network management solution of choice across critical defense networks, including the Defense Information Systems Agency’s (DISA) Integrated Network Management System (INMS) and the Joint Task Force (JTF) Joint Network Management System (JNMS). The NETSMART 1500 EMS supports north-bound interfaces to NeuralStar for complete end-to-end management of SONET networks of all sizes.
“This interoperability certification couples the complete maintenance and provisioning capability of the NETSMART 1500 EMS with the dynamic visibility and control capability of NeuralStar,” said Bill Erickson, senior vice president of sales and marketing at Fujitsu Network Communications. “The U.S. government depends on our FLASHWAVE optical networking solutions and, through successful interoperability with NeuralStar, network professionals can quickly deploy FLASHWAVE 4500 systems and easily manage converged U.S. federal networks.”
Fujitsu has deployed over 300,000 network elements in North America and was recently named the market share leader by independent telecom research and advisory service firm RHK in both SONET platforms and Re-configurable Optical Add/Drop Multiplexers (ROADMs), the two most critical components of today’s optical network. Fujitsu FLASHWAVE and NETSMART products are available through GSA contract number GS-35F-0414K on the 70IT (Information Technology) schedule. NeuralStar is available through GSA contract number GS-35F-0309N.
